MNA supports youth activities of the Wil-Mar Neighborhood Center and Common Wealth Development Corporations. These organizations are 501(c)(3) non-profits providing after school and summer youth programs and youth mentoring activities. MNA has close relationships with the two organizations and holds seats on each of their boards of directors. MNA also runs an annual youth summer camp utilizing the neighborhood's access to the Yahara River and Lake Monona.
We award scholarships to graduating high school seniors with the MNA/Peat-Piper Scholarship. The awards are made to assist post-secondary education for children with "significant ties" to the Marquette Neighborhood who demonstrate financial need. Special weight is given to economically disadvantaged students. Parents and/or students do not need to be members of the association.
MNA supports the Marquette Elementary PTA by informing neighbors of issues relating to the school and advocating on the schools behalf. We support programs at both Marquette Elementary and O'Keeffe Middle schools such as providing supplies to homeless youth and an educational spelling program.
